What owners and installers actually report
Buying this equipment currently means spending several evenings across Reddit, YouTube, Amazon and trade forums, assembling a picture nobody has written down. This is that picture, categorised and linked back to every original.
Where the spec sheet and owners disagree
The most useful thing in this whole database. A published specification is measured under controlled conditions; your installation is not controlled conditions. When several people independently report a figure that contradicts the datasheet, that gap is worth knowing before you buy, not after.

On Amazon and retailer ratings specifically
We store no Amazon review text. Amazon's terms prohibit scraping and its Product Advertising API does not return review bodies, so the aggregate star rating and a link to the reviews page is both what is available and what we publish.
That limitation matters less than it sounds. Most residential mechanical equipment isn't sold on Amazon at all — it moves through distribution — and what is sold there collects reviews dominated by shipping damage and installation difficulty rather than the five-year questions that actually decide these purchases. Treat retail star ratings as a sanity check, never as a basis for choosing equipment.
How we weight what we find
Trade forums carry more weight than owner communities, which carry more weight than retail ratings — not because owners are wrong, but because a contractor who services fifty of something sees failure patterns an owner of one cannot. Every report is tagged by whether it came from a homeowner or someone who works on the equipment, and both are shown.
A single report is never presented as a pattern. The evidence strength bar on each theme accounts for how many independent sources agree, and anything below 40% is labelled thin.
