Ductless mini-splits
Samsung WindFree RXX12AMD / RNX12AMD Single-Zone Ductless System
8 of this catalog's 10 products (80%) carry at least one real, seller-observed equipment price gathered 2026-08-24 (gotductless, hvacdirect, supplyhouse, hvacplace, acdirect) — well clear of the 70% gate. carrier-37mara-09 (sold through a closed dealer network with no public price) and bosch-climate5000-12k (public prices found only for the discontinued R-410A generation, not the current R-454B SKU this catalog lists — not substituted, to avoid misrepresenting a different product) are left honestly unpriced rather than estimated. Every one of the 10 products has a recorded SKU-verification status (verified x9, mismatch x1 — mitsubishi-mxz-3d24nl, where the commonly-quoted MXZ-3C24NA is confirmed discontinued and MXZ-3D24NL is the current equivalent). DATA-QUALITY FLAG found while reading these files: daikin-aurora-multi's catalog record lists capacity_btu=36000 and zones_max=5, but the seller research recorded for it shows the 36,000 BTU/h outdoor unit is actually the 4-zone SKU (4MXT36AVJU9), and the true zones_max=5 SKU (5MXT40AVJU9) is 40,000 BTU/h. The product's own zones_max and capacity_btu fields describe two different real SKUs, not one. Not corrected in this pass (out of scope — this file does not touch products.py) but flagged here and in "What to do next" as a specific, actionable fix.
Single-zone ductless system with a notably warmer minimum operating temperature than every other unit in this catalog.
Our take
Samsung's WindFree indoor-unit design (micro-perforated panel that diffuses airflow instead of blowing directly on occupants) is a real comfort differentiator, but the -5°F minimum operating temperature is the weakest cold-weather figure in this catalog by a wide margin — 8 to 17 degrees warmer than every other single-zone unit here. This is not a cold-climate choice.
Best for
Milder climates where the WindFree airflow comfort feature matters more than deep cold-weather capacity.
Watch out for
Do not buy this for a genuinely cold climate. Its -5°F cutoff is far warmer than the Mitsubishi, Fujitsu, LG and Gree units in this catalog, all rated to -13°F or colder.
How it performs by climate zone
Heating capability against each zone's 99% winter design temperature.
| Zone | Design temp | Verdict |

| 5A — Cool – Humid | 2°F | Workable Rated to -5°F against a 2°F design temperature — enough margin, though backup heat will run on the coldest days. |

Samsung WindFree single-zone system
RXX12AMD / RNX12AMD |
$1,749 | 2026-08-16 |
Equipment price is not installed price. The listings above are what the hardware costs. Installation — labour, electrical, refrigerant lines, permits, removing the old system — is typically a similar amount again, and varies more between contractors than between brands. Where we have an installed figure it is labelled as such and comes from someone who actually installs.

Before you buy this
Ask the contractor for the AHRI certificate number for the specific indoor/outdoor combination being installed — ratings apply to matched pairs, not to the outdoor unit alone. Ask whether they will perform a Manual J load calculation rather than sizing off the equipment being replaced. And check your state and utility incentive programmes: there is no federal tax credit for a 2026 installation, so those programmes are now the only incentive money available, and many require approval before installation.
