Enphase IQ Battery 5P
9 of 11 catalog products carry at least one real, seller-observed equipment-only price, gathered 2026-08-24 -- 81.8% against the >=70% gate, the strongest coverage this platform's research has reached for a from-scratch category (furnace: 80%). The two unpriced products -- solaredge-nexis (US orders opened just 2026-07-13, six weeks before this run; no retail price-discovery has happened yet at any channel) and anker-solix-x1 (Anker does not publish a price and no distributor listing found one) -- were checked at every channel found and left unpriced rather than estimated, following the same discipline as furnace's own unpriced-product handling. STRUCTURAL GAP, disclosed rather than worked around: platform/core/price_schema.sql's price_observations table has a capacity_btu column and no kWh-equivalent -- confirmed by reading the schema directly. Every battery price observation this run recorded therefore carries no capacity field at all, which also means platform/core/pricing.py's PER_TON_BANDS plausibility check runs unconditionally TRUE for every battery observation (no capacity value means validate_observation() never reaches its band comparison) -- there is currently NO price-plausibility protection for this category the way furnace's and heat-pump's own $/ton bands provide. This run's own 9 new-product-plus-existing observations span roughly $575-$1,940 per usable kWh equipment-only, which could seed a first-draft $/kWh band for "battery" in a future pass -- flagged as a concrete, actionable follow-up rather than left as an abstract gap. A genuine, disclosed price-confidence spread within the 81.8% that IS priced: several observations are explicitly labeled "sale price - order by [date]" promotional pricing on the seller's own page, not necessarily a standing list price -- recorded as found, per this project's rule against silently smoothing a real, dated figure into an assumed-stable one. One real, disclosed >60%-of-lower-price divergence was found and published rather than resolved by picking a side: LG RESU16H Prime's two independent real listings ($2,150 vs. $4,500 for the identical SKU) -- see price_seed_addition.py's OBSERVATIONS_ADD for both, full context, and this project's own conflict-resolution rule (publish both, flag the gap, don't silently prefer one).
Modular 5 kWh LFP battery, stacked in multiples, with a 15-year / 6,000-cycle warranty.
Our take
Enphase's argument is granularity and redundancy. Buy 5 kWh at a time and add more later; if one unit fails the rest keep running, unlike a single large battery. The 15-year warranty is the longest here. The cost is power density — you need three units to approach one Powerwall's continuous output, and three units cost more than one Powerwall.
Best for
Homes already running Enphase microinverters, and buyers who want to start small and expand.
Watch out for
Sizing for backup requires attention to continuous power, not just kWh. One unit at 3.84 kW will not start a well pump and a heat pump together.

Equipment price is not installed price. The listings above are what the hardware costs. Installation — labour, electrical, refrigerant lines, permits, removing the old system — is typically a similar amount again, and varies more between contractors than between brands. Where we have an installed figure it is labelled as such and comes from someone who actually installs.

Before you buy this
Size on continuous power (kW) for what you actually want backed up during an outage, not just usable capacity (kWh) — a well pump or a heat pump compressor starting can draw far more than its running wattage. List your essential loads and ask whether the proposed inverter can start them together, not just hold them once running. And confirm the quote isn't still claiming the 30% federal credit, which expired for anything placed in service after 31 December 2025.
