Our take
Bluetti, like EcoFlow, built its brand on portable power stations, not fixed whole-home installations -- disclosed here for the same reason as EcoFlow's entry above, not repeated at length. What makes the EP900 configuration a defensible inclusion in a whole-home battery comparison rather than a portable product mismatched into this category: it is sold and installed as a fixed panel-integrated system (a 'Home Integration Kit' is part of the priced package below, not an optional accessory), with continuous output (9 kW) and usable capacity in the same range as this catalog's Enphase and sonnen entries. A buyer should still weigh that this is a newer product category for Bluetti specifically, the same as for EcoFlow.
Best for
Buyers wanting a modular LFP system with a lower entry price than most of this catalog's other whole-home options, expandable by adding more B500 modules later.
Watch out for
8.928 kWh usable at this 2-module configuration is on the smaller end of this catalog's range -- adding a 3rd or 4th B500 module (priced separately) is the path to a larger system, not a different product line.

Before you buy this
Size on continuous power (kW) for what you actually want backed up during an outage, not just usable capacity (kWh) — a well pump or a heat pump compressor starting can draw far more than its running wattage. List your essential loads and ask whether the proposed inverter can start them together, not just hold them once running. And confirm the quote isn't still claiming the 30% federal credit, which expired for anything placed in service after 31 December 2025.
